DAY #1 RESULTS

SALEM, Ore. – After the opening round of the 2011 NAIA Fall Preview co-hosted by Corban University and the Cascade Collegiate Conference, Warner Pacific leads the CCC contingent with a combined team score of 20-over 308 that sits in a three-way tie for 10th overall.

Individually, Warner Pacific's Andrew Johnson is two shots behind the leaders after carding an opening round score of even-par 72 to sit in a six-way tie for fourth overall.

One stroke behind Johnson is Corban's Joey Duwe, who posted an 18-hole score of 1-over 73 to lead the host Warriors to a combined score of 21-over 309 that is good enough for 13th overall.

Concordia, led by reigning CCC Golfer of the Week receipient Jesse Heinly's 3-over 73, sits in a two-way tie for 15th after posting a combined team score of 25-over 313.

The College of Idaho (331, +43) and Northwest Christian (340, +52) round out the five conference teams competing this week, as C of I's Tyler Thurston is tied for 60th individually after shooting an opening round score of 7-over 79. Meanwhile, NCU's Tyler Falk led the Beacons on Monday with an 18-hole total of 11-over 82 that would good enough for 78th overall.

On the leaderboard, Texas Wesleyan leads the field with a combined team total of 2-over 290 with British Columbia (292, +4), Our Lady of the Lake (296, +8), Johnson & Wales (298, +10), and Victoria (299, +11) rounding out the Top 5 teams.

Individually, Texas Wesleyan has a pair of golfers – Joel Thelan and Blake Vinson – sitting atop the leaderboard after shooting 2-under 70, respectively. British Columbia's Dennis Nikou is all alone in third place with a 1-under 71, while there is a six-way tie for fourth that includes Johnson.

The second and final round will beginning tomorrow – Tuesday, October 4th – starting at 8:30 a.m. with assigned tee times off Hole #1. Tee times off Hole #10 will begin at 9:00 a.m.
