SALEM, Ore. – Head men's basketball coach Justin Sherwood announced Wednesday that California native Kent Foster (Patterson, Calif.) has signed a Cascade Collegiate Conference Letter of Intent and will join Corban's team for the 2012-13 season.

Foster will join the Warriors next season after spending the past two years as a student at CSU Stanislaus and Fresno City College.

"We recruited Kent very hard two years ago and are extremely happy he had decided to join our program," said Sherwood. "Kent will fit in great here at Corban. He has the ability to score in a variety of ways and has the athleticism to rebound and created turnovers. Kent is going to have a great experience at Corban."

Foster, a 6-foot-1 guard, played three seasons at Patterson High School in Northern California where he helped lead the Tigers to a combined 51-32 win-loss record from 2007-10.

During his three years at Patterson, Foster scored 960 total points in 72 games. The shooting guard averaged a team and career-high 22.6 points per game as a senior, while also scoring a school-record 45 points in a game.

Thanks to his performance as a senior in 2009-10, Foster was named the Most Outstanding Player in the Western Athletic Conference (WAC) and also earned All-WAC 1st team honors. Along with his conference awards, Foster was also named to the 1st Team All-San-Joaquin Section Division 3.

As a junior, Foster averaged 15.8 points per game to go along with averages of 3.4 rebounds, 2.4 assists, and 2.0 steals per contest. During his second season of prep basketball, Foster helped lead Patterson to the playoffs before the Tigers were eliminated in the opening round.

Corban, who is in the midst of preparing for the upcoming 2011-12 season, returns 11 players from last season's roster that advanced to the semifinals of the Cascade Collegiate Conference tournament. The Warriors will tip-off the 2011-12 season on Friday, November 4th, at The California Maritime Academy Tournament against the host Keelhaulers beginning at 7:30 p.m. in Vallejo, California.
