Concordia's Facundo Dipascuale was voted the CCC's Player of the Year for a second straight time.
Dipascuale Repeats as CCC Player of the Year
PORTLAND, Ore. – Concordia University’s Facundo Dipascuale has repeated his feat from one year ago, being named the Cascade Collegiate Conference Men’s Soccer Player of the Year. The senior midfielder from Argentina led all players in assists with 10 and shared the CCC lead in game-winning goals with four. He ended the 2011 season with 32 points.
Concordia sophomore Tanner French and Corban junior Tillermon Kroon shared this year’s Defensive Player of the Year award. This year’s Newcomer of the Year is Joel Pelton of Northwest University. Pelton came to the Eagles from Bethany University (Calif.). The junior from Sacramento, Calif., third in conference in goals (11) and fourth in points (29).
A trio of conference coaches share this year Coach of the Year honor: Concordia’s Dan Birkey, Northwest’s Gary McIntosh and Corban’s Paul Meehan. Birkey led the Cavs to their second-straight CCC regular season title and top seed in this year’s post-season tournament. NU’s McIntosh led the Eagles to a 10-3-1 conference record and 11-5-3 overall record. Corban’s Meehan guided the Warriors to an 11-7-1 overall record and a berth in the CCC tournament championship game.
