STATS - Concordia vs. Northwest Indian

PORTLAND, Ore.--The Concordia women's basketball team capped a stretch of five games in eight days with a 97-27 win over Northwest Indian on Sunday.

Concordia (1-1) broke open the game early after Northwest Indian (3-4) tied it at 7-7 with 15:19 remaining in the first half. The Cavs then followed by scoring 30 of the next 32 points in the game.

The Cavaliers used a full court press early that got the team many turnovers and sparked the run.

Overall, Concordia totaled 28 steals off Holy Names' 43 turnovers, which led to 26 fast-break points. The Cavs also got lots of easy buckets in transition, bringing their overall shooting up to 44 percent, while the team limited the Eagles to 18.2 percent. To cap it all off, Concordia took home the rebounding advantage 65-to-38 overall and 25-to-10 in offensive rebounds.

Individually, 13 players saw action for the Cavs and four players scored in double-figures. Sarah Letourneau led all scorers in the game with 16, while Gabi Beyer added 14 and Malori Dixon and Rachel Scarpelli each totaled 10. On the boards, Caitlyn McCuthcheon grabbed a game-high nine rebounds to go with eight for Brittney Yates and seven for Lexi Amundsen. Yates' eight rebounds were part of a terrific all-around game for the guard as she also totaled eight points, four assists and five steals. Five of Yates' rebounds were on the offensive end as well.

Concordia next hosts Cal State-San Marcos on Thursday, Nov. 17 at 7 p.m.
