-- The men’s and women’s soccer teams from Concordia University opened their new stadium in impressive style last Saturday. Both captured CCC tournament titles to earn automatic berths in the NAIA Championships, which get underway with opening-round games on Saturday. Hear from Cavalier men’s soccer players Evan Denmark and Facundo Dipascuale as they talk about the Cavs’ 2-0 victory over Corban.

-- Concordia goalkeeper Tori Talbutt said her team’s second-half performance keyed the Cavs’ 1-0 victory over Northwest in the CCC women’s soccer championship game. CU coach Grant Landy also weighs in on his team’s performance in its first game in the university’s new on-campus stadium.

-- Seven CCC cross country teams and seven individuals will be at Fort Vancouver (Wash.) on Saturday to take part in the NAIA Cross Country National Championships.

-- In volleyball, Southern Oregon moved up to No. 10 in the NAIA Top 25 poll after upsetting higher-ranked College of Idaho in the CCC tournament championship game in Caldwell. Both SOU and College of Idaho advanced to the national championships.

-- An impressive road victory over the defending GNAC champion Central Washington Eagles, an NCAA Division II team from Ellensburg, Wash., resulted in Warner Pacific men’s basketball earning the Verizon Team of the Week award. First-year coach Jared Valentine fills listeners in on his team’s performance.

-- In the Les Schwab Champions of Character segment, veteran Concordia men’s soccer coach Dan Birkey reflects on the real meaning of his institution’s new on-campus stadium.
