ASHLAND -- The 15th annual Raider Club Auction held Wednesday night at Bob Riehm Arena on the Southern Oregon campus brought in over $55,000 for SOU student-athletes and scholarships.

 

More than 300 supporters of SOU Athletics attended the event, which featured 86 silent auction items, 26 live auction items and a scholarship ask.

 

This year's scholarship ask brought in $25,000 alone and two items in the live auction brought in over $2,000. The Dinners Around the Rogue Valley live auction item (which is dinner for eight at seven Rogue Valley restaurants) was purchased for $2,750 and a week-long Kauai vacation was purchased for $2,250.

 

The Raider Club Auction comes on the heels of the Lithia/Raider Club Golf Shootout that brought in almost $200,000 to the Raider Club.

 

The SOU fall athletic teams are nearing the end of a highly successful season. The SOU men's cross country team won its fourth straight Cascade Conference Championship and will try to defend its NAIA National Championship on Saturday, the SOU volleyball is ranked 10th in the nation and will compete at the NAIA National Championships starting Nov. 29, the SOU football team finished 5-5 and .500 for the first time since 2007 and went undefeated at home for the first time since 1999 and the women's soccer team finished second in the Cascade Conference.
