KLAMATH FALLS – Southern Oregon battled back from 13 points down to tie the game late, but Holy Names closed the game with a 10-4 run to pull out the 85-79 win over the Raiders Friday night at the Midland Empire Insurance Classic at Oregon Tech.

Southern Oregon falls to 2-3 overall this season with the loss, while Holy Names improves to 4-2. The Raiders return to action Saturday afternoon, when they will face William Jessup at 3 p.m.

Eric Thompson scored 30 points for the fourth consecutive game, shooting 13-of-23 from the field, and grabbed nine rebounds. Jordan Highland connected on 8 of 10 shot attempts for 16 points and picked up 11 boards to earn the double-double.

Karlos Crier led Holy Names with 28 points, while Colby Herron scored 17 and David Scott and Fabian Lopez each tallied 13 points.

Holy Names closed the first half on a 14-4 run to turn a one-point deficit into a 50-41 halftime lead. The Hawks extended the advantage to 13 points in the first five minutes of the second half, but the Raiders battled back and tied it up at 75-75 on a steal and jumper by Dex Daum with 3:16 to play.

The Hawks regained the lead a minute later on Fabian Lopez’s jumper, and they never gave up the lead the rest of the way.
