VANCOUVER, Wash. - Three Cascade Conference teams placed in the top 10 at the 2011 NAIA Women's Cross Country Championships, led by Northwest Christian's best ever 4th place at Fort Vancouver today.

The Beacons were ranked 9th in the country heading into the meet, but close gaps between NCU runners vaulted the squad into the top 5 with 172 points. Brittany Peterson (16th, 18:09) and Stephanie Hescock (20th, 18:14) earned All-American honors.

College of Idaho ran to a 7th place showing as a team, led by All-American efforts from Sora Klopfenstein (10th, 17:58) and Hillary Holt (18th, 18:12)

Host school Concordia also had a pair of All-American performances from Gina Paletta (17th, 18:11) and Junia Limage (23rd, 18:15), leading the Cavaliers to a team finish of 8th place.

Karlee Coffee from Eastern Oregon didn't quite achieve her goal of an individual title, but was the top CCC competitor. Her time of 17:42 was good for 3rd place after a runner up effort in 2010.

Southern Oregon's duo of individual qualifiers Seena Franz (37th) and Alexandra Rudd (57th) raced toward the front of the field.

Courtney Welling from Corban (100th) and Paige Delapp from Northwest (142nd) also carried the CCC banner.

Obsie Birru from Grand View claimed the individual title in a time of 17:15.

Cal-State San Marcos defended their title from a year ago, scoring a meet low 82 points.
