-- Seven CCC cross country teams and seven individuals have secured berths in next week’s NAIA Cross Country National Championships. Led by eighth-year head coach Pat McCurry, College of Idaho is one of just a handful of schools to qualify both its men’s and women’s teams for the national championships each of the last four years. McCurry talks about the C of I program, his conference championship women’s team, and junior standout Greg Montgomery, who won a CCC individual crown last Saturday.
-- The CCC volleyball tournament gets underway Friday in Caldwell, Idaho, where eighth-ranked College of Idaho plays host to 12th-ranked Southern Oregon, 28th-ranked Eastern Oregon and Northwest University. SOU coach Josh Rohlfing says this year’s tournament may be the most competitive in CCC history.
-- Corban’s men’s soccer team has charged into the CCC tournament title game, and will take on once-beaten and ninth-ranked Concordia Saturday afternoon in Portland for the 2011 crown. Second-year Corban coach Paul Meehan and junior midfielder Tyler Hagen talk about Tuesday’s win over Northwest and look ahead to Saturday’s showdown with Concordia.
-- In women’s soccer, Northwest will battle seventh-ranked Concordia in the CCC tournament championship game Saturday in Portland. The two head coaches – Northwest’s Erin Redwine and Concordia’s Grant Landy – talk about Saturday’s matchup.
-- SOU volleyball coach Josh Rohlfing saw his team rally from an 0-2 deficit vs. College of Idaho last Friday and win a thrilling 3-2 victory over the then sixth-ranked Yotes. Rohlfing talks about his team’s comeback, which earned his Raiders the CCC Verizon Team of the Week award.
-- Corban revealed its latest Athletic Hall of Fame induction class, and athletic director Dave Johnson tells Cascade Connections there will be a definite basketball flavor to the Jan. 14 induction ceremonies in Salem.
