PORTLAND, Ore. -- Northwest Christian University's Jordan Buhler and Corban University's Katie Steigleman have been recognized as Red Lion Players of the Week in basketball for the period ending Dec. 25, the conference office announced.

The honorees:

MEN

Northwest Christian University’s Jordan Buhler, a 6-6 junior guard from Harrisburg, Ore., has been named the Red Lion Men’s Basketball Player of the Week for the period ending Dec. 25. 

In two games, Buhler averaged 17 points, 8.0 rebounds, 3.5 assists and 2.0 steals as the Beacons split a pair of CCC contests.

Buhler had a season-high 22 points in a 96-77 victory over Evergreen (Wash.).

Honorable mention: Erik Cronrath, Corban; Adam Herman, Concordia; Stephen Harris, Warner Pacific.

WOMEN

Katie Steigleman of Corban University, a 5-11 senior forward from Eugene, Ore., was named the Red Lion Women’s Basketball Player of the Week for the period ending Dec. 25. Steigleman helped Corban extend its winning streak to a season high four games by pouring in 46 points and grabbing 16 rebounds in a home CCC sweep. 

Steigleman had 19 points, seven rebounds, four blocks and four steals in a 63-51 victory over Evergreen (Wash.). She then had 27 points, nine rebounds, two blocks and two steals in a 91-69 win over Northwest (Wash.). Steigleman shot 53 percent (17 of 32) from the field and was 9 for 9 at the free throw line.
