Northwest Men's Basketball Cited by CCC
PORTLAND, Ore. – The unbeaten Northwest (Wash.) University men’s basketball team, which ran its winning streak to 13 consecutive games with road victories at Northwest Christian and Corban, has been named the CCC “Verizon Team of the Week” for the period ending Dec. 25.
The Eagles, who are ranked 10th in the latest NAIA Top 25 poll, defeated Northwest Christian 65-62 before knocking off Corban 70-61. Northwest improved to 13-0 overall and shares second place in the CCC with a 3-0 conference mark.
In NU’s win over Corban, Ahmaad Cook led four players in double figures for the Eagles. Cook had 15 points, Nemanja Grujicic had 13, and Jordan Call and Michael Greene added 10 each. In the victory over Northwest Christian, Greene led the Eagles with 17 points and eight rebounds. Rich Skillman, who sank three three-pointers, added 16 points and a team-high six assists.
