BOX SCORE

PORTLAND, Ore – Playing their final non-conference contest of the season, Warner Pacific posted a 77-61 victory over Pacific Lutheran tonight at Bart Valentine Court.

Cameryn Calhoun made four of five attempts from three point range and the host Knights shot a season best 52 percent from behind the arc on the way to the win.
Warner Pacific improves its record to 8-6 with the result, while PLU sees its overall record drop to 4-6.

WPC sprinted out to a 12-2 lead to start the game thanks in part to a pair of Calhoun makes from distance. Later in the half PLU closed the gap to 18-15 on a Shelly Kilcup trey, but the Knights slowly pulled away and led by as many as 18 before settling for a 42-27 halftime lead.

Killcup scored the first bucket of the second period to bring the Lutes within 13, but Warner Pacific began to pile on the points and built their largest lead at 63-36 with 11:37 to play. PLU continued to fight and clawed back to within 13 (74-61) before a Morgan Wolff three pointer provided the final margin of 77-61 for the Knights.

Calhoun finished with 14 points for WP and also handed out nine assists. Chelsey Christensen contributed 15 points, while Meghan White and Wolff added 12 points each.

Kilcup scored a game high 21 points for PLU. Samantha Potter had a double-double with 14 points and 10 rebounds.

Warner Pacific will resume Cascade Conference play this week, traveling to Oregon Tech and Southern Oregon for key CCC matchups.
