Second Half Run Lifts Oregon Tech Over Warner Pacific
KLAMATH FALLS, Ore. – Oregon Tech used a 13-1 run to open the second half and held on down the stretch to secure a 71-62 win over Warner Pacific University tonight in Cascade Conference women’s basketball action.
Oregon Tech moves to 14-2 overall and 4-1 in CCC play and will host Concordia University, winners at Southern Oregon, Friday beginning at 5:30 p.m. Warner Pacific drops to 8-7 on the season and are even at 2-2 in CCC play. WPC travels to Ashland to take on Southern Oregon University tomorrow.
Karissa Dixon led Oregon Tech in points with 16 and grabbed a game-high seven rebounds. Aundrea Albright was 5-for-6 shooting for 13 points, while also securing four rebounds. Colleen Hunt and Jazzy McDaniel added nine points each. Morgan Hofman finished with seven points and six assists with Rebekah Matteri seven points and three rebounds in the win for Tech.
Chelsey Christensen led all scorers with 22 points on 8-of-15 from the floor, including a pair of triples to go with three rebounds. Meaghan White followed with 14 points and five rebounds, with Kelsey Mattsen adding 12 points and five boards and Cameryn Calhoun 11 points in the loss for the Knights.
The Owls finished with a 52.4% effort from the floor (22-for-42), while holding WPC to just 31% shooting in the second stanza and 36.8% effort for the game (21-of-57). The Knights connected on 15-of-21 from the charity stripe and the Owls 20-for-28, with the home team holding a 34 to 27 edge on the boards.
