WPC's Sharp, NU's Jackson Earn CCC Honors

PORTLAND, Ore. -- Warner Pacific's William Sharp and Northwest University's Jessalyn Jackson have been named the Red Lion Players of the Week in basketball for the period ending Dec. 4, the CCC office announced.

The honorees:

Men’s Basketball

Warner Pacific College’s William Sharp, a 6-0 junior guard from Lacey, Wash., averaged 16 points and nine assists as the 17th-ranked Knights opened CCC play with home victories over College of Idaho (87-51) and No. 21 Eastern Oregon (89-78). Sharp had 18 points and 11 assists in the win over Eastern Oregon and 14 points and seven assists in the victory over College of Idaho. He shot 71 percent (12 of 17) from the field.

Women’s Basketball

Northwest University’s Jessalyn Jackson, a 6-0 senior center from Vancouver, Wash., averaged 19.5 points, 10.0 rebounds and 6.4 blocks as the Eagles defeated Pacific Lutheran and Evergreen (Wash.). Jackson had 24 points and 13 rebounds in the non-conference win over Pacific Lutheran – her fifth double-double of the season – and broke her school record for blocks with 10 rejections vs. Evergreen.
