Katelin Shannon scored 15 points in Lady Yotes win
CALDWELL, Idaho - Four players scored in double figures, leading The College of Idaho to a key 67-44 Cascade Conference victory over Northwest Christian, tonight in the J.A. Albertson Activities Center.
The win for the Lady Yotes (14-11, 9-6 CCC) keeps The C of I alone in fourth-place in the CCC standings, a game-up on Warner Pacific for the final home playoff spot in the eight-team CCC Tournament at the end of the month.
Leading 13-11 midway through the opening period, the Coyotes held the Beacons (10-16, 6-10) to just one field goal for a seven minute stretch, using the 13-3 run to gain control of the contest. A late jumper by Rachel Rasmussen gave the hosts a 33-18 lead at the break. Back to back Katelin Shannon lay-up and a jumper from Nicole Bruce pushed the margin to 39-20 early in the second half, and The C of I cruised to the victory.
Shannon led all scorers with 15 points, as the Lady Yotes scored 27 points off 20 NCU miscues. Bruce, Dayna Drager, and Nicole Gall each scored ten in the win, with Gall tying C of I's school record with her 67th career double-figure scoring night.
Hope Williams had a ten points and a game-high 17 rebounds in the loss for the Beacons.
The Coyotes close out their home regular-season schedule tomorrow night with a 5:30 p.m. tip-off vs. Corban. It marks the final home game for six senior student-athletes - Gall, Bruce, Rasmussen, Tyra Rickman, Brianna Hansen, and Kathryn Beus.
