PORTLAND, Ore. – Warner Pacific scorched the nets with a 63.6 shooting percentage in a crucial 94-75 win over 16th ranked Northwest University on senior night at C.C. Perry Gym.

Miranda Holenstein was honored before the game as the Knights’ lone senior, then proceeded to score a game high 20 points including four three pointers to lead WP to the victory. Warner Pacific (15-11, 9-7 CCC) moves into a tie with College of Idaho for 4th place in the Cascade Collegiate Conference standings. Northwest falls to 18-7 overall, and remains tied for 1st place atop the CCC with Concordia at 12-4.

The host Knights had the hot hand from the opening tip, and finished 28 of 44 for the game. WP also took advantage of an overly aggressive Eagle defense, making 30 of 41 tries from the free throw line.

Warner Pacific started the game by building an 12-3 lead, but a 10-2 run from NU cut the gap to a single point at the 12:18 mark. From there, it was all Knights as WP closed out the half by outscoring the Eagles 32-17. The halftime score was 46-30 in favor of Warner Pacific.

After the break, Northwest attempted to climb back into the game with pressure defense and received 13 second period points from Erika Hornyak, but the Knights continued to score with accuracy and never saw their lead dip below 16 points.

In addition to Holenstein, Kelsey Mattsen and Cameryn Calhoun added 19 points each for Warner Pacific.

Hornyak finished with 18 points for NU, while Emily Drivstuen was the top scorer for the Eagles with 19.
