NAMPA, Idaho – The Eastern Oregon University track and field team ended the Jacksons Invitational with a pair of school records, two new auto qualifiers, and four provisional qualifiers.

Alma Garcilazo picked up EOU's only win of the day in the 800 meters. The junior's winning time of 2:15.89 easily surpassed the NAIA Auto qualifying mark of 2:18.70.

The other EOU record and national qualifying mark came in the men's pole vault. Competing in his hometown and in his first meet as a Mountaineer, Robbie Haynie placed third in a deep field with a jump of 17' 3/4". The Mesa Junior College transfer beat the old record of 16'6 3/4" held by Shawn Trimble.

Hans Rolle, Ryan Booth and DJ Flores added provisional qualifying marks to the auto marks they collected as members of the Distance Medley Relay last night. Rolle snagged his in the 800 meters when he ran 1:56.36 to win his heat and finish fifth overall. Flores (4:20.06) and Booth (4:20.97) picked their marks in the mile run where they finished second and third respectively.

The fourth provisional qualifying mark came out of the women's Shot Put where Ashlee Michelson surpassed the NAIA provisional mark by a quarter of an inch with a toss of 41' 4.5". Anne Barnett was three quarters of an inch behind Michelson.

Brittany Sims broke the EOU record in the 60-meter sprint by running 8.04 seconds. Orie Gamez held the previous record at 8.13 from 2009.

Eastern Oregon will compete in the Boise State University Team Challenge Feb. 11 and Feb. 12 in Nampa at the Idaho Center.
