PORTLAND, Ore. -- Four CCC student-athletes have earned Red Lion Indoor Track and Field Athlete of the Week recognition, the conference office announced.

This week's honorees:

Men’s Indoor Track & Field

Track – Eastern Oregon’s Ryan Booth, a junior from Post Falls, Idaho, has been named the Red Lion Men’s Track Athlete of the Week. At the Washington State Indoor Open, Booth came from behind over the last 100 meters to win the 800 meter race in 1:53.73.

Honorable mention: Cory Pena, Concordia.

Field – Eastern Oregon’s Robbie Haynie, a junior from Nampa, Idaho, has been named the Red Lion Men’s Field Athlete of the Week. Haynie, who earned the honor for the second straight week and third time this season, cleared 6-7 in the high jump to earn a provisional qualifying mark for the upcoming national championships. Haynie leads the NAIA in the heptathlon and pole vault.

Honorable mention: Bo Johnson, Concordia.

Women’s Indoor Track & Field

Track – Eastern Oregon’s Alma Garcilazo, a junior from Umatilla, Ore., has been named the Red Lion Female Track Athlete of the Week. In a race which featured a number of NCAA Division I competitors, Garcilazo took the lead less than 100 meters into her 800 meter race and streaked to a EOU record of 2:13.98 and a first-place finish at the Washington State Indoor Open. Garcilazo’s time ranks fifth on the NAIA’s season performance list.

Honorable mention: Kristine Smith, College of Idaho; Sami Andrews, Concordia.

Field – Concordia’s Kayla Xavier, a junior from Modesto, Calif., has been named the Red Lion Female Field Athlete of the Week for the second consecutive week. At the Warner Pacific Last Chance Meet, Xavier won the shot put with the nation’s best effort this season, 46-11, and once again surpassed the NAIA auto qualifying standard in the weight throw with a heave of 50-2 ¾.

Honorable mention: Anne Barnett, Eastern Oregon.
