Concordia, C of I Meet for CCC Tournament Title
PORTLAND, Ore. – It will be the Cavaliers vs. the Coyotes Monday night in the Cascade Collegiate Conference Women’s Basketball Tournament championship game.
Tip-off is set for 7 p.m. at Cavalier Gym on the campus of Concordia University in Northeast Portland. Concordia, the regular season CCC co-champion, is the tournament’s top seed and has advanced to the title game with victories over Northwest Christian and Eastern Oregon. College of Idaho, the No. 4 seed, has moved into the championship game with wins over Warner Pacific and Corban.
Both teams have clinched automatic berths in the NAIA Championships next month, but plenty of bragging rights are on the line for the two programs, who have won the past two CCC tournament titles. Concordia won on its home floor in 2009, College of Idaho claimed the title on its home floor last year.
The game will match two of the CCC’s top performers this season: Concordia forward Danielle Clauson, who was named the conference Player of the Year on Sunday, and College of Idaho guard Nicole Gall, a first team All-CCC choice who was voted the CCC’s Defensive Player of the Year.
