Corban softball players wish that they could have fun during this rainy season that has caused five games to be lost so far this year due to the weather.
Corban & Simpson Cancel Saturday's Games
SALEM, Ore. – Fourth-year head softball coach Nathan Ohta announced Saturday morning that Corban's double header action against California Pacific Conference member Simpson has been cancelled due to rain and unplayable field conditions in Oregon's Capital City.
The Warriors and Redhawks were scheduled to play a pair of games Saturday at Warrior Field, but due to the amount of rain that has fallen in the Willamette Valley over the past 24 hours the field was deemed dangerous and unplayable.
So far this week, Corban has lost three games due to the weather and this is the fifth games total that has been cancelled this year due to either weather or illness.
The Warriors conclude their non-conference schedule with an overall record of 8-7 following a come-from-behind victory Wednesday over NCAA Division II member Western Oregon, 6-3, in the team's final game before beginning conference games next week.
Corban will return to action on Friday, March 18th, in its Cascade Collegiate Conference opener against Eastern Oregon beginning at 2:00 p.m. on Warrior Field in Salem.
