Cavaliers Dominate Warner Pacific Invitational
VANCOUVER, Wash. – Concordia University placed four golfers in the top five to cruise to the team title at the Warner Pacific Invitational held at a wet and windy Club Green Meadows in Vancouver.
The Cavs’ Sara Molyneux edged Trish Gibbens from The College of Idaho by one stroke to claim the individual medal. Molyneux carded a 245 (+26) over the 36 hole, par 73 tournament, one shot better than the Coyotes’ Gibbens.
The rest of the top five were from Concordia including Sunny Powers (249, +30), Samantha Webb (250, +31) and Holly Speer (252, +33) which pushed the Cavs to a team total of 996 and the tournament title.
The College of Idaho finished 2nd as a team at 1033, followed by Northwest Christian (1191), host Warner Pacific (1257), and Corban (1296).
All five Cascade Conference team will tangle again next week, March 28th and 29th at The College of Idaho Invitation, held at River Bend Golf Course in Wilder, Idaho.
