PORTLAND, Ore. -- Anne Barnett of Eastern Oregon and Bo Johnson of Concordia have been named NAIA Track and Field Athletes of the Week for their performances from March 14-20.

Barnett, a senior from Hermiston, Ore., posted three first-place finishes and one NAIA-provisional qualifying mark at the Eastern Oregon Blue and Gold Meet on March 18. In all three events, the javelin, hammer throw and shot put, she placed first among all athletes. Her hammer throw (142’ 10”) and shot put (37’ 5 ¾”) marks place her in the national top-seven list. Her distance of 128’ 9” in the javelin also took first place.

Johnson, a sophomore from Toledo, Ore., opened the outdoor season with the NAIA's leading throw in the hammer with a 6-foot personal record of 186-6 at the University of Oregon Preview on March 19. Johnson placed second overall behind Oregon's All-American Jordan Stray. He finished ahead of eight other NCAA Division I competitors. The mark moved Johnson to No. 2 on Concordia’s all-time performance list in the hammer throw.
