Tyler Falk leads C of I Invite by six strokes
WILDER, Idaho - Riding the back of Tyler Falk and Brent McKee, the Northwest Christian men hold a double-digit stroke lead into the final round of the 2011 College of Idaho Invitational at River Bend Golf Course.
The duo helped the Beacons to a 36-hole total of 591, 14-strokes clear of second-place Concordia. Falk battled the windy conditions for a two-under 70 in the morning round, the blitzed the course for a four-under 68 in the afternoon – finishing the day at six-under par, holding a six-shot lead over teammate McKee, who carded an even-par 144.
Thanks to a two-over 146 from Taylor Schmidt, CU sits in second, using a second-round 296 to get back in contention on the 6,886-yard, Par 72 track.
Corban is in third, 24-shots back, led to Steve Landis, who is in a tie for fourth (+5) overall, while the host Coyotes are in fourth, as a second-round 74 from Kyle DeLorey helped The C of I to a two-round total of 620. Despite Andrew Johnson sitting in fourth-place (+5), Warner Pacific is 69 shots off the pace.
Tomorrow’s final round is set for a shotgun start at 8 a.m.
