Brown walked the first two batters of the game, and both runners advanced on a wild pitch as Kalie Kurdy struck out swinging. Nickayla Skinner grounded out to first, allowing the lead runner to score and give the Yotes a 1-0 lead. They added one more in the second as Sammy Dodge reached on an infield singe and advanced to second on a passed ball and to third on a wild pitch. With two outs, Dodge came in to score on a throwing error by third baseman Amy Aicher to make it 2-0.
