No. 17 Owls Split Double-Header with Yotes

KLAMATH FALLS, Ore. – No. 17 Oregon Tech (30-9, 16-4) and College of Idaho (22-14, 12-8) split a key Cascade conference double-header Sunday afternoon with Tech winning game one 3-1 and the Yotes taking game two 2-1 in two very well pitched games.

In game 1: Oregon Tech’s Ashleigh Larson hit her 12th homerun of the season, a 3-run blast in the bottom of the 1st inning and that was all the offense Jackie Imhof would need as she pitched 7 innings striking out 8 batters while allowing just 4 hits and 1 run to improve to 15-4 on the season.

Nickayla Skinner pitched well for C of I but picked up the loss falling to 13-6 on the season.

Molly Mills led the Yotes offense with 2 of the teams 4 hits.

In game 2: College of Idaho’s Nickayla Skinner pitched well again, this time picking up the win allowing just 3 hits and 1 run going the distance striking out 8 walking 1 and hitting 4. Skinner improves to 14-6 on the season.

C of I’s Britney Croner picked a great time to hit her 1st homerun of the season as she put got the game winning hit in the top of the 6th inning giving the Yotes the 2-1 lead.

Oregon Tech’s Shauna Collins hit a solo homerun in the 3rd inning her 5th of the year.

Oregon Tech will host William Jessup University in a non-conference double-header Monday at 2:00 pm at the OIT Softball Complex.
