Dylan Smith Named Winner of Dr. LeRoy Walker Champions of Character Award
KANSAS CITY – Former Concordia University baseball player Dylan Smith was among the featured honorees Monday at the NAIA’s annual awards banquet held in conjunction with the organization’s national convention here.
Smith was presented with the Dr. LeRoy Walker Champion of Character Award, considered one of the NAIA’s most prestigious honors. The Walker Award recognizes an NAIA student-athlete who has excelled academically and athletically, and has shown a commitment to the five core values of the Champions of Character program.
Smith was introduced at the banquet by his father, Dr. Glenn Smith, Concordia University’s vice provost. Matt English, the Cavaliers’ athletic director, helped present the award.
