VANCOUVER, B.C. The College of Idaho baseball team swept a doubleheader from No. 14 ranked British Columbia, winning both ends of the twinbill 5-2, at Nat Bailey Stadium.

The Yotes (28-14, 18-8) pulled even with the T-Birds in the loss column in NAIA West North Division play - rallying for four runs in the top of the ninth inning to win Game 1, with Mitch Dame picking up his eighth win of the season in Game 2.

Trailing 2-1 in the ninth against closer Brandon Kaye, the Yotes got an RBI single by Todd Griffiths to tie the game, then Jordan Lanman put The C of I up with an RBI single. Lanman would score on a wild pitch, with a fourth run scoring on an Izaac Garsez double.

Garsez, Tanner Hodges, and Griffiths all had two hits for the Yotes, while Austin Fruson had three hits for the Thunderbirds (26-13, 22-8).

Game 2 saw UBC take a quick 1-0 lead in the first on a Fruson RBI single, but the Yotes took the lead for good on a Kyle Douglas two-run homer in the fifth inning, adding a big insurance run in the seventh on a Gavin Gamboa single.

Dame went six innings, working around eight hits for the win, with Levi Mitchum working around a pair of baserunners in the final frame to notch the save. Griffiths, Douglas, Garsez, and Jesse Dodd each had two hits for the Yotes, while Andrew Madsen and Kaaton Briscoe each had two hits for the T-Birds.

The two teams will close out the series tomorrow with an 11 a.m. doubleheader - UBC needing just one win to clinch the North Division title.
