NNU INVITE RESULTS

EUGENE, Ore. – The Eastern Oregon University track and field team had a successful weekend with its team spread across three states.

Alma Garcilazo ran the third fastest time in the NAIA this season finishing seventh in the women's 800 meters. The junior finished with a time of 2:09. The mark broke her previous school record.

Kimmy Moore raced to a fourth place finish in the 400-meter hurdles with a new school record of 63.03 seconds. Her time shaves .86 off the EOU record she set two weeks ago in Spokane. Winning the second heat of the 400-meter hurdles was teammate Brittany Sims in a season best 64.77 seconds. Sims' mark is only .07 off the NAIA provisional mark of 64.70.

Moore later teamed up with Kelsey Kinzer, Cory O'Neil and Kadie Booth to run the second fastest 4x100-meter relay in school history to finish seventh in 49.24 seconds. Moore, Booth, O'Neil and Sims also teamed up to finish sixth in the 4x400-meter relay with a time of 4:01.22.

Ashlee Michelson finished sixth in the women's shot put with an NAIA provisional mark of 43 feet, 3.75 inches. That mark is also a personal record by 10.25 inches. The toss is the third best throw in EOU history.

Ryan Booth finished second in the second section of the men's 800 meters with a time of 1:53.21. He placed ninth overall and just .03 out of the win in his heat.

Karlee Coffey hit an NAIA auto mark in the women's 5,000 meters. The sophomore finished sixth with a time of 17:00.81, the fastest time in the Cascade Conference currently. It is the third best in the NAIA. The La Grande native owns the top mark in the conference in the 10,000 meters and fourth best in the NAIA so far this season.

Damion Flores won his heat of the men's 5,000 meters crossing the line with a time of 14:32.25. That time breaks his previous season best of 14:42.54, which was already an NAIA auto mark. He sits atop the conference in the event and is eighth in the NAIA currently. His time was six seconds shy of Don Stearns' 28-year old school record.

Forrest Lumpry, ran the eighth fastest time in the NAIA in the 3,000-meter Steeplechase. Lumpry won his heat with a time of 9:20.21, just a mere 21 hundredths of a second from an NAIA automatic mark. The time is an NAIA provisional mark and the third best in the Cascade Collegiate Conference currently. Isaac Updike finished in third place with a time of 9:23.54, and Kody Coxen was sixth at 9:28.39.

Christine Eckstein hit a provisional mark in the women's 1,500 meters. The senior finished fourth in her heat with a time of 4:41.45. Hans Rolle was eighth in the men's 1,500 meters “B” section race with a time of 3:59.46.

In Nampa, Idaho at the Northwest Nazarene University Invitational, the Mountaineers had a number of quality performances and added some conference qualifying marks.

Event winners for Eastern Oregon at NNU were Cristal Delgado in the 10,000-meter run with a time of 40:25.95. Delgado's time is a conference qualifying mark. Justin Dean won the men's 5,000-meters with a season's best time of 15:39.94.

Leigh Anne MacCarthy qualified for conference with a 10,000-meter time of 43:13.18. Alex Martinez and Josh Wise hit the men's conference mark in the 10K with times of 34:23.17 and 34:31.02.

Other new conference qualifying marks came from Brandon Powell in the high jump (5'10"), Chris Wilson in the 400 meters (51.64) and Tyler June in the 800 meters (1:57.75). On the women's side, Monique McKenzie qualified for conference in the steeplechase (13:59.38), Colby Patton in the 400-meter hurdles (70.40 seconds), Talissa Baldovino in the 1,500 (5:06.43), and Maddison Stapleton in the pole vault.

The Mountaineers will travel to Forest Grove next weekend for the Pacific University Twilight. It will be the final meet before the Cascade Conference Championships in Gresham from May 12-15.
