EUGENE, Ore. – Idaho All-State big man Daved Gillmor announced his intentions this week to play basketball at Northwest Christian University next season for head coach Corey Anderson. Gillmor is currently a senior at Eagle HS in Eagle, Idaho.
The two-sport star was a Second-Team All-State selection as a senior Forward and was an All-Southern Idaho Conference First-Team player after averaging 18 points per game. Gillmor was a member of both the All-State and SIC All-Star teams and led the Mustangs to a second-place finish in state as a junior.
Gillmor said, “I'm truly grateful, and blessed to be given this opportunity to play basketball at NCU, and look forward to playing at the next level.”
Gillmor also excelled at football in high school and was a Tight End on the 2009 State Championship team as a junior.
Head Coach Corey Anderson said, “Daved is going to be a great addition to our team for the next 4 years. We are expecting Daved to be able to come in and contribute right away. ‘Bubba’ brings a level of toughness and intensity that helped him achieve great things in high school. We are excited for him to bring that level of play to the Beacons next year!”
Gillmor will be looked upon to contribute in the post immediately as all three starting “bigs” for the Beacons from last season will graduate this year. The Northwest Christian University men’s basketball team finished tenth in the Cascade Collegiate Conference during the 2010-2011 season, with a record of 2-16 (8-22 overall).
