No. 21 Oregon Tech Sweeps Past Concordia

KLAMATH FALLS, Ore. – In a battle of the top two teams in the Cascade Conference, No. 21 Oregon Tech was able to take advantage of timely hitting and solid pitching to squeak past Concordia University 4-2 and 4-3 in a CCC double-header. With the wins OIT improves to 27-6 on the season and 13-1 in conference play. Concordia falls to 16-12 on the season and 9-7 in the CCC. Oregon Tech has now won 11 straight games and improved to 8-0 at home.

In game 1: Oregon Tech’s Ashleigh Larson hit her 10th homerun of the season in the first and Jackie Imhof struck out 6 Cavalier hitters to pick up her 13th win of the season.

Larson led the Tech offense with the homerun and 2 RBI.

Andria Wheatley and Janelle Cromie each had a hit and an RBI for OIT.

Cameron Way had 2-hits for Concordia with Robin Gawlista and Kyndell Andrews each picking up a hit and an RBI.

Imhoff improved to 13-3 picking up the win for OIT with Renee Santos falling to 6-5 for Concordia.

In game 2: Ashleigh Larson continued her hot hitting by singling home Shawna Collins in the first inning. OIT would then take a 3-0 lead in the 3rd inning scoring twice on 3 hits and one Cavalier error.

Concordia got onto the scoreboard in the 4th inning off Oregon Tech starter Taylor Schmidt as they scored 2-runs on 4-hits and one OIT error.

Tech added one run in the 5th to make it a 4-2 game.

Jackie Imhof came in to relieve Schmidt in the 6th shutting the door and picking up her 4th save of the year. Taylor Schmidt improved to 14-2 with Concordia’s Jordyn Brown picking up the loss falling to 7-5.

Andria Wheatley and Bree Larson had 2 hits each for Oregon Tech with Ashleigh Larson again picking up 2 RBI in the win.

Ali Paz had 2-hits and scored twice to lead the Cavaliers.

Oregon Tech will now travel to Southern Oregon University (10-15, 7-7 CCC) on Tuesday for a doubleheader scheduled for 2:00 pm in Ashland, Oregon.
