KIRKLAND, Wash. - Northwest University Director of Athletics, Gary McIntosh, announced Eagle women’s head soccer coach, Erin Redwine, recently earned her USSF "A" license at the Home Depot Center in Carson, Calif. The USSF “A” is currently the highest level of soccer coaching license issued in the country by the United States Soccer Federation.

During the nine day course, the coaches spent 40 plus hours coaching and playing in field sessions and 30 plus hours of classroom instruction.

“Though I was exhausted both physically and mentally, it was all worth it,” commented Coach Redwine. “My ever expanding coaching philosophy was tested and refined as my body and mind underwent rigorous training. Redwine continued, “The highlight of the course was meeting and learning from fellow candidates who coach at the club and college level around the country. I am proud to have taken and passed the course as it has given me the confidence and assurance necessary for me to accomplish my current and long term career goals.”

One of the people Coach Redwine became well acquainted with during her stay was two-time Olympic Gold medalist and former U.S. National team player, Brandi Chastain. Chastain is most remembered as the player who scored the game winning goal at the 1999 FIFA World Cup.

“Our congratulations to Erin for her hard work in receiving this honor,” said McIntosh. “Her commitment to the university, her players, the team, and our sport is greatly appreciated!”
