GREENEVILLE, Tenn. — Carding their lowest round of the tournament, Concordia jumped two places to end the four-day NAIA Women’s Golf National Championship in 13th place.
Concordia (335-316-327-315—1,293), ranked No. 14 in the final NAIA Coaches’ Poll, fired a 23-over 315 to move up a pair of positions on the final day. The overall team score was the second-lowest in program history, trailing only the cumulative 1,273 the Cavaliers posted last season en route to a fifth-place finish. The 13th-place result was the fifth straight year Concordia cracked the top 15 at the national championships.
California Baptist shot a final round 307 to tie Embry-Riddle (Fla.) for the team championship with a total score of 1252. Shorter (Ga.) finished two strokes back in third, with Oklahoma City finishing three strokes back for fourth place. British Columbia's Kylie Barros shot 75 in the final round to earn medalist honors, finishing with a 297, four strokes ahead of Dakota Wesleyan's Danielle Bellet.
Speer’s finish is an all-time best result at nationals for the junior. Speer finished in a tie for 50th overall last season after tying for 36th place as a freshman.
