Cavs Win All-Sports Title for 3rd Straight Year
PORTLAND, Ore. – Concordia University has claimed the Cascade Collegiate Conference All-Sports Trophy for the third consecutive year. The Cavaliers, on the strength of winning or sharing eight regular season conference titles, outdistanced runner-up College of Idaho and third-place finisher Southern Oregon in claiming the award.
It marks the third straight CCC All-Sports Trophy for the Cavaliers, and CU’s fourth title in the last five years.
“We are ecstatic to win this award for the third straight year,” said Matt English, Concordia’s director of athletics. “The CCC is one of the top conferences in the nation and this honor is a testament to the commitment to excellence of our entire athletics department. Concordia has been blessed with an amazing group of student-athletes, coaches and staff and they deserve all the credit for this award.”
Concordia finished with 145 points, and was followed by College of Idaho (121), Southern Oregon (120), Eastern Oregon (112) and Oregon Tech (97) in the top five.
The Cavaliers regular season conference titles came in the sports of women’s soccer, men’s soccer, women’s cross country, women’s basketball, men’s outdoor track and field, women’s outdoor track and field, men’s golf, and women’s golf. No other CCC institution won or shared more than two regular season conference crowns. Concordia also added a national championship in women's track and field.
