Imhof Strikes out 10 to Lead Tech Past Corban 5-1

KLAMATH FALLS, Ore. – No. 19 Oregon Tech’s Jackie Imhof struck-out 10 Warrior batters to lead The Lady Owls past Corban University in game 1 of the best of 3 series to determine the Cascade Conference representative in the NAIA National Tournament. Oregon Tech improved to 34-12 and Corban falls to 25-16.

Game 2 of the series is scheduled for a noon start Saturday at Oregon Tech with game 3 (If necessary) to follow.

Oregon Tech got on the scoreboard in the first inning scoring 2-runs on 2-hits including a triple by Ashleigh Larson.

Tech added 2 more runs in the 4th inning on 3-hits and 1-Corban error.

Brittany Cherry added her 4th Homerun of the season in the bottom of the 6th to put OIT up 5-0.

Corban’s Stephanie Nippert showed why she is the single season All-time Homerun Leader in the CCC by crushing the first pitch she saw well over the center field fence in the top of the 7th inning. It was her 19th of the season a CCC record.

Imhoff pitched a complete game striking-out 10 allowing 4-hits as she picked up her 18th win of the season.

Corban’s Makenzie Marchbanks picked up the loss as she slips to 12-10 on the season.

Eight different players each had a hit for Oregon Tech in the win.
