BOISE -- College of Idaho golfer Trish Gibbens claimed the biggest prize in the State of Idaho this past weekend, winning the Idaho Golf Association's Women's Amateur Championship at Shadow Valley Golf Course here.
The 2011 NAIA first-team All-American and junior-to-be carded a 54-hole total of 224, earning a two-shot victory over the Univeristy of Nebraska's Maedeline Sheils. Gibbens jumped out to a four-shot lead after the first round with a 71 and held a five-shot lead heading into today's final round.
She was joined in the top 10 by fellow Coyote Baylee Borchers, who finished 10th overall -- and third in the first flight.
