Oregon Tech's volleyball team knocked off top-ranked Fresno Pacific in Ashland Saturday.

ASHLAND, Ore. -- Playing in the second match in the Paul Elliott Invitational at Riehm Arena, the Oregon Tech Lady Owls shocked four-time defending NAIA champion and No. 1-rated Fresno Pacific today, winning the five-set thriller 25-19, 20-25, 18-25, 25-20, 15-8. The win is the first ever in program history over a No. 1-ranked team.

Oregon Tech won the first set 25-19 but dropped the next two sets 25-20 and 25-18.

The Lady Owls won the fourth set 25-20 to force a winner take all fifth set.

Oregon Tech won the final set 15-8 to claim the win, 3-2.

Oregon Tech was led by Joey Parnell and Mindy Nalder who each had 16 kills in the win. Krystie Vea had a game-high 25 digs, with Parnell adding 14 and Nalder 11. Sarah Sveden had 34 assists for Oregon Tech.

Oregon Tech improves to 1-0 on the season and will continue on the road next week playing at William Jessup University Wednesday in Rocklin, Calif. No. 1 Fresno Pacific slips to 0-2 on the season after suffering back-to-back losses to Southern Oregon and Oregon Tech.
