"We had too many defensive lapses in the game today," commented NU head coach, Erin Redwine. "and I think the heat got to us a bit. We'll have to get ourselves a bit more physically fit before the conference opener, but I'm confident we can do that." Redwine continued, "Jordan Holmes played an outstanding game for us in goal today with her 12 saves. I was proud of the way our team wouldn't quit and worked to get those two goals in the second half. We'll return home knowing we came down here to be challenged by playing two ranked teams."
The Eagles return home and will face George Fox in Kirkland on Sept. 1 before heading to Salem, Ore. for another pre-season game at Willamette University.
