Kylee Nawahine had a double-double in Lady Yotes win at Corban
SALEM, Ore. - Ciciley Fox and Kylee Nawahine each recorded double-doubles, helping The College of Idaho remain unbeaten in Cascade Conference play with a 17-25, 25-23, 25-18, 25-21 victory over Corban University inside the C.E. Jeffers Center.
The host Warriors (7-5, 1-3 CCC) used a 5-0 surge in Set 1 to build an 18-10 lead and cruised to grab the early edge – getting five team blocks in the frame. Set 2 was a back-and-forth affair, as the No. 8 ranked Yotes (7-1, 4-0) led 18-14 on a Fox kill, but watched as Corban got a pair of Megan Dees aces – part of a six-point run, to claim a 20-18 lead. Tied at 23-23, a Nawahine kill and a Coyote combo-block evened the match at a set apiece.
Set 3 saw the Lady Yotes score 10 of the final 14 points, including two Nawahine kills, to take control of the match, then rally from a 20-19 deficit in the final set, taking advantage of a trio of Warrior hitting errors in a final 6-1 spurt to close out the win.
Fox had 15 kills and 14 digs in the victory, while Nawahine had 12 kills and a match-high 17 digs. Kelsey Soos had 43 assists in the win, with Torrey Hulsey adding seven kills and six blocks.
Chandra Baskoro had 15 kills and 20 digs for the Warriors, with Tiffany Land logging five kills and match-high nine blocks. Setter Katherine Salness had 33 assists in the loss.
The Lady Yotes return to action next weekend, hosting Oregon Tech on Friday and Southern Oregon on Saturday.
