LA GRANDE, Ore. -- The Eastern Oregon women's soccer team shutout Trinity Lutheran College Sunday, 1-0. The Mountaineers (2-3) got the lone goal in the 75th minute from Mauriana Gonzalez.

The sophomore took nine shots in the game, putting two on goal, before perfectly placing a ball over Trinity Lutheran College goalkeeper, Kaylin Wilson, from 26 yards out. In the last meeting between the schools last season, EOU set a school record and Cascade Collegiate Conference record for shots in a game.
 
This meeting saw Eastern outshoot TLC, 29-12. The Mountaineers also took all six corner kicks in he game. Wilson made 11 saves in the match, while Eastern's Chantal Schefers stopped five Eagle shots.
It is the fifth shutout for Schefers in her career.
 
The match was the lone home regular season non-conference game of 2011. Eastern makes a return trip to Trinity Lutheran in Everett, Wash., Sept. 24, for it's next regular season match. The Mountaineers host North Idaho College in a non-counting contest Wednesday at 2 p.m.
