Tech's Victor Corona had 2 goals in 3-0 win
(KLAMATH FALLS, Ore.) The Oregon Tech men’s soccer team got a goal in each half from Victor Corona and stellar defense to even up its Cascade Conference record to 1-1 and its season record to 3-3 with a 3-0 win over Northwest Christian University Saturday night at Trevor Derrah Field. Northwest Christian falls to 0-2 in CCC play and 2-4 on the season with the loss.

Tech’s Victor Corona took a Jimmy Merkley long pass along the left sideline beat a defender and chipped in the ball past the keeper to give Oregon Tech a 1-0 lead in the 29th minute.
Corona was at it again in the 53rd minute when he took a Brandon Schoenmann cross faked dribbled around a defender and scored from 15 yards out to give the Hustlin’ Owls a 2-0 lead.
Rey Chavolla added a goal in the 87th minute when he took a picture perfect pass from Michael Eagle and scored past the Beacons keeper finishing the scoring at 3-0.
Oregon Tech Goal Keeper Loren Jessen had his second shutout in as many games facing 15 shot picking up 5 saves.
Oregon Tech had a slight 19-15 edge in shots with Northwest Christian having a 5-4 advantage in shots on goal.
Oregon Tech was called for 9 fouls and 1 yellow card on the night with Northwest Christian being whistled for 14 fouls including 2 yellow cards and 1 red card.
Oregon Tech will continue CCC play in Portland next week playing at Concordia University on Friday night September 23 and at Warner Pacific on Saturday, September 24th.
Northwest Christian will return home to host the Evergreen State and Northwest University next weekend in Eugene, Ore.
