Women's Results I Men's Results

SPOKANE, Wash. -- Paced by an 11th-place finish by Hillary Holt, The College of Idaho women’s cross country team finished fourth overall at the deep Runners Soul Erik Anderson Invitational here. The Coyote men had a solid finish, placing 11th overall.

Eastern Oregon men's team placed 12th overall while the Mountaineers' women's team placed 22nd.

Competing against 25 other teams at Plantes Ferry Regional Park in an event serving as the NCAA Division II National Championship Preview Meet, the Lady Yotes had all five scorers in the Top-40, finishing with 142 team points – behind Division I programs Washington State and Gonzaga, and nationally-ranked Division I program, Western Washington.

Holt finished the six-kilometer race in 22:08, with Sora Klopfenstein taking 28th (22:49). Sarah Johnson gutted out a 32nd-place finish (22:57), despite battling a side-stitch midway through the race. The C of I defeated quality Division II programs, UC-San Diego, Colorado Mines, Seattle Pacific, and Regis, along with nationally-ranked NAIA teams from Carroll, Lewis-Clark State, and Eastern Oregon.

Andrew Hugill led the Coyote men with a 14th-place finish, with a time of 25:07, with Jason Hunt the Yotes second finisher in 25:53. All-American Greg Montgomery, making his 2011 debut, ran a conservative 26:25 to place 77th in the deep field. The C of I finished ahead of rival Eastern Oregon and defeated the same Great Falls team that it lost to two weeks ago at Idaho State.

The Yotes return to action on Oct. 7, hosting the Coyote Twilight.
