Oregon Tech Pulls Away From Simpson
KLAMATH FALLS, Ore. – Oregon Tech opened the second half on a 25-6 run to methodically pull away from Simpson University and earn an 89-57 non-conference victory in non-conference women’s basketball action tonight at Danny Miles Court.
Oregon Tech moves to 16-2 on the season and resumes Cascade Conference play this Saturday at arch-rival Southern Oregon University with the tip set for 5:30 PM.
10 Owls scored, including four in double figures, led by a game-high 19 points from Kassi Conditt. Conditt finished 8-of-11 from the floor and grabbed eight rebounds. Jazzy McDaniel recorded 15 points on 7-for-11 shooting and five boards with Aundrea Albright adding 12 points and Carrie Thibault 10 in the win for Tech. Karissa Dixon, this week’s Cascade Conference Player of the Week, netted seven points and handed out a game high nine assists on the night.
Bekah Eppler led Simpson with 14 points, while Ariassa Wilson came away with 14 points and seven rebounds and Nichole Jones 10 points in the loss for the Redhawks.
Oregon Tech shot 58.6% from the field (34-for-58), including a 6-for14 effort from long range and 15-of-21 at the charity stripe to outdistance there opponent. The Owls held Simpson to 31.6% from the floor (18-for-57), forced 23 turnovers and outrebounded the visitor by a 40 – 31 advantage.
