KLAMATH FALLS, Ore. – College of Idaho forced 27 turnovers and held off a late Oregon Tech rally to secure a 63-54 Cascade Conference victory in the 3rd annual “Pink Out” game tonight at Danny Miles Court.

Oregon Tech falls to 18-4 on the season and 7-3 in CCC play. College of Idaho moved to 13-7 overall and 8-3 in the CCC standings after sweeping this week’s road games.

College of Idaho used timely 3-point shooting, along with several offensive rebounds to move out to a 19-10 advantage midway through the first period.

After moving up 13 points, 27-14, with 3:27 to play in the opening period Oregon Tech finally showed some life, mounting a 9-3 run to trail just seven. A Felicity Jones triple, however, would close out the first half scoring with Oregon Tech trailing 33-23 at intermission.

College of Idaho would lead by double-digits most of the second period, going up by 15 on two occasions.

With the score 49-37 with 9:27 remaining to play the Owls defense tightened and the offense found a rhythm. Tech chipped away over the next eight minutes and on an Aundrea Albright layup trailed by just four, 53-49.

A C of I basket on the next possession put the visitors ahead six points, but Kaitlin Nielsen answered for the Owls to make it 55-51 with 48 seconds.

The Owls, however, would get no closer as the Yotes connected on 8-of-8 free throws down the stretch to win 63-54.

Karissa Dixon led all scorers with 17 points to go with six rebounds and a trio of steals. Aundrea Albright was a rebound shy of a double-double after a 13 point and nine rebound effort.

Tina Fakahafua led C of I with 16 points and six rebounds, while Felicity Jones notched 14 points and Katelin Shannon 10, including 8-of-8 from the free throw line.

Oregon Tech held the Yotes to 34% shooting on the evening, but C of I would connect on 7-of-15 from long distance with six coming in the first half. The Owls connected for just 34.7% overall and were 6-for-15 from the 3-point line. The Yotes came up with 20-for-27 at the charity stripe, several coming late to seal the win with OIT 14-of-18 on the night. Both teams grabbed 36 rebounds apiece.
