Conference Announces this Week's Athletes of the Week
LA GRANDE, Ore. -- Student-athletes from The College of Idaho, Concordia and Eastern Oregon have been named Red Lion Cascade Collegiate Conference Athletes of the Week for the period ending Jan. 22, the conference office announced Monday.
The honorees:
WOMEN'S BASKETBALL
The College of Idaho’s Felicity Jones, a 5-7 junior guard from Tremonton, Utah, has been named the Red Lion Women’s Basketball Player of the Week for the period ending Jan. 22.
In a weekend road sweep, averaged 16 points, seven rebounds and 3.5 steals. Jones helped the Lady Yotes stay in the conference race with two key road wins at Southern Oregon and Oregon Tech.
Friday, Jones scored 18 points on 8-of-16 shooting, at SOU. She grabbed seven rebounds in the win. Jones helped C of I force 27 turnovers in a 63-54 win at Oregon Tech Saturday. She had four steals in the victory. Jones also added 14 points.

MEN'S BASKETBALL
Concordia University’s Kevan West, a 6-3 senior forward from Vancouver, Wash., has been named the Red Lion Men’s Basketball Player of the Week for the period ending Jan. 22.
West helped the Cavaliers earn a split last week with a win over Multnomah University and an overtime loss to No.8 Warner Pacific College. He totaled 48 points, 18 rebounds, and nine assists last week. West shot 69 percent from the field and made seven of his 11 three-pointers.
West scored 21 points and had nine rebounds in a 91-82 win over Multnomah Tuesday. He was 8-for-9 from the field in the victory. Saturday, against Rose City rival WPC, the senior totaled 27 points, making 10 of his 17 shots from the field.

WOMEN'S INDOOR FIELD
The College of Idaho’s Audrey Youren, a freshman from Gooding, Idaho, has been named the Red Lion Women’s Indoor Field Athlete of the Week for the period ending Jan. 22.
Youren established a new College of Idaho record in the high jump in her collegiate debut. The freshman finished eighth at the Bronco Invite hosted by Boise State University. She had a top mark of five feet, one inch.
Honorable mention: Sarah Beck, Eastern Oregon.
MEN'S INDOOR FIELD
Eastern Oregon’s Robbie Haynie, a senior from Nampa, Idaho, has been named the Red Lion Men’s Indoor Field Athlete of the Week for the period ending Jan. 22.
The junior cleared 17 feet in his first meet of the 2012 season. Haynie hit 17 feet, 2.25 inches during the competition to hold off Idaho State University's Mike Arnold.
His mark is an NAIA auto-qualifying mark, and the top vault in NAIA. Haynie finished ahead of several NCAA Div. 1 participants Saturday. His mark was just shy of his school-record, which he set last year, at 17 feet, 2.75 inches.
