Warner Pacific Rolls Past Geoducks

PORTLAND, Ore. – Twelve different Knight players put points in the scoring column as 17th ranked Warner Pacific ran past Evergreen 93-67 inside C.C. Perry Gym on Saturday.
The host Knights quickly jumped out to a lead and were never threatened. With the win, Warner Pacific improves to 14-4 overall and 6-1 in CCC play. Evergreen falls to 1-15 and 0-7 in CCC action.
The Knight offense took a few minutes to click, and managed just a three point advantage (7-4) after four minutes of action. A 13-2 run from WP put some distance on the visiting Geoducks, and moments later a Nick Schultens three pointer gave the Knights a 23-8 lead. Evergreen managed to rally briefly, and a trey from Les Jones cut the WP lead down to 30-21 with 7:51 left in the first half. Warner Pacific ripped off a 18-2 burst at that point to make the score 48-23 and the rout was on.
Warner Pacific continued to extend their lead in the second period, and seven straight points from Doug Thomas pushed the advantage out to 40 points toward the end of the game. Evergeen did manage to cut the final spread thanks to a good streak of shooting which included a pair of three point goals from Mike DeRosier.
Treavone Bowie led Warner Pacific with 15 points, including 3 of 4 shooting from three point range. Biniam Tadele dropped in 12 points, while Diego Herrejon showed his all around game with four points, 10 rebounds, six steals, and three assists.
DeRosier and Patrick Lewis shared game high honors with 18 points each for Evergreen. Lewis also grabbed 14 rebounds, and Larry Green contributed 11 points.
