Former Corban Warrior Jeff Dunn will begin his fifth season of semi-professional basketball next month as a member of the American Basketball Association's first-year expansion Salem Sabres.
Former Corban Warrior Named Preseason All-PacNW Team
SEATTLE, Wash. – Former Corban Warrior and NAIA All-American Honorable Mention recipient Jeff Dunn was named as part of the preseason All-Pacific Northwest Division Team that was announced by the league office prior to the start of the American Basketball Association (ABA) season next month.
Dunn, who is a member of the ABA's first-year expansion Salem Sabres, is making his return to semi-professional basketball after 2½ years away from the game. Dunn, who played two seasons (2003-05) at then-Western Baptist College, is part of the inaugural season for the Sabres.
This year's preseason All-PacNW Division Team includes Rashaad Powell of the Seattle Mountaineers, Patrick Lewis of the Olympia Rise, Andre Thompson of the Kitsap Admirals, Greg Manderson of the Washington Rampage, Kennie Thomas of the Lakewood Panthers, Duncan Miles of the Calgary Crush, Carl Arts of the Alaska Quake, Dunn, and Jamelle Juneau of the Alaska 49ers.
The Salem Sabres will play an eight-game schedule beginning with a 7:00 p.m. home game on November 10th against the Seattle Mountaineers. All home games will be played at Chemeketa Community College, as the Sabres are head coached by Willie Freeman, who was a teammate of Dunn with the Salem Stampede.
Prior to this season, Dunn was a member of the Salem Stampede of the International Basketball League (IBL) from 2006-2010. Dunn left the Stampede as the team's all-time leading scorer with 982 points in 44 games (avg. 22.3 ppg), while also ranking in the Top 10 all-time in team history in assists (3rd - 170), steals (3rd - 68), and rebounds (6th - 174).
