KIRKLAND, Wash. – Northwest University’s Acacia Johnson played a part in all four goals as the Eagles shut out Evergreen, 4-0, in Cascade Conference play this afternoon.

Johnson scored two goals and had two assists as Northwest improved their conference record to 3-1-1 which puts them into third place in the CCC standings.

Northwest missed on early opportunities to start the game, but Shea Samuelsen gave the Eagles the 1-0 lead in the 29th minute as she took Johnson’s cross from the left side and scored from 10 yards out. Johnson would then score her first goal of the day at the 36:05 mark putting her right foot on Hannah Reeser’s pass. She would get her second goal a little over a minute later (36:16) as Jessie Murphy would place a pass at Johnson’s feet for a chip over Evergreen goalkeeper Kaitlin Mackenzie from 12 yards out, to make it 3-0.

In the second half, the teams would battle without a goal until the 59th minute when Jordyn Wilson would right foot a cross from Johnson for the final score of the game and to seal the win.

Northwest U. (4-8-2, 3-1-1 CCC) outshot Evergreen (0-9-1, 0-5 CCC) 23-9 and would have the edge in corner kicks 8 to 3. Lauren Davidson came in to record 5 saves in the second half for Evergreen as Mariah O’Brien recorded 2 saves in goal for NU.
