Northwest Christian is Top CCC Team at Preview Meet
WOMEN'S RESULTS
PORTLAND, Ore. - NCU placed 2nd overall at the Cascade Conference Preview Meet, which was the best finish for a CCC team at Lents Park today.
The University of Portland claimed the team title. The Pilots placed four runners in the top 15, led by individual champion Merel van Steenbergen. Portland State was 3rd with 80 points, followed by Northwest University and the University of Oregon Running Club.
Van Steenburgen posted a time of 17:22, which surpassed the meet record set by Ashley Younce of Oregon State in 2005. Amber Rozicka and Sarah Dean from Portland State placed 2nd and 3rd, while Northwest Christian’s Ally Manley and Mikel Elliot from Concordia rounded out the top 5.
Eight CCC teams tested the Lents Park course that will host the Championship event in November.
