Red Lion Players of the Week Announced
The following CCC student-athletes have been recognized as Red Lion Players of the Week for their performances during the period October 8-14.
Men’s Cross Country Runner of the Week
Southern Oregon’s Eric Avila has been chosen the Red Lion Men’s Cross Country Runner of the Week for October 8-14.
Avila a sophomore from Chula Vista Calif., Won his second race in three meets this season, leading the top-ranked Raiders to a first-place finish at the 2012 CCC Preview Meet. Avila covered the 8k course in 24:32 to place first.

Women’s Cross Country Runner of the Week
College of Idaho’s Hillary Holt has been selected as the Women's Cross Country Runner of the Week for October 8-14.
Holt, a junior from Boise, Idaho, won her third straight meet and helped her team place first overall at the George Fox Adidas Classic. Holt covered the 5k course in 17:35.

Women’s Soccer- Defensive
Kaitlyn Mendenhall from Corban has been chosen the Red Lion Player of the Week for Women's Soccer-Defense for the week of October 8-14.
Mendenhall, a sophomore goalkeeper from Windsor, Calif., did not allow a goal in nearly 165 minutes over weekend for Corban, and totaled nine saves against Southern Oregon and Oregon Tech

Women’s Soccer- Offensive
Oregon Tech’s Meghan Drost has been chosen as the Red Lion Women's Soccer-Offensive Player of the Week for October 8-14.
Drost, a senior from Corvallis, Ore. led the Oregon Tech offense with a hand in all 4 of the team goals in two games. Drost had a total of six points including the game winning goal against Northwest Christian.

Men’s Soccer-Defensive
Northwest’s Joe Galbraith has been selected as the Red Lion Player of the Week for Men's Soccer-Defense for the week October 8-14.
Galbraith, a junior from Whitefish, Mont., had 18 saves and only gave up one goal in wins over Oregon Tech and Warner Pacific.

Men’s Soccer-Offensive
Concordia’s Septi Danciu has been chosen as the Red Lion Men's Soccer Offensive Player of the Week for October 8-14.
Danciu, a junior from Bristita, Romania, provided his fifth game-game-winning goal of the season in a 1-0 contest at Corban. Danciu then turned around with a pair of assists in a road battle at Evergreen.

Volleyball Hitter of the Week
Concordia’s Jackie Stein has been chosen the Red Lion Volleyball Hitter of the Week for October 8-14.
Stein, a freshman from Portland, Ore. averaged a team-best 4.57 kills per set as CU defended its home court with a 3-1 win over Corban and a 3-0 sweep of NCU. Stein posted match-high kill totals in both matches.

Volleyball Libero of the Week
Concordia’s Kelsey Kai been chosen as the Red Lion Volleyball Libero of the Week for October 8-14.
Kai, a junior from Troutdale, Ore. pulled in match-high dig totals in both CU wins this week with 24 in a 4-setter against Corban and 25 in a 3-0 sweep of NCU. In addition, Kai contributed with 4 aces and 6 assists against the Beacons.
Honorable mention: Janel Porter C of I, Kaitlyn Duncan, EOU
Volleyball Setter of the Week
Concordia’s Lindsay Mangan has been chosen the Red Lion Volleyball Setter of the Week for October 8-14
Mangan, a junior from Huntington Beach, Calif., upped her CCC leading assist average by leading CU to a .279 hitting percentage in two matches this week. Mangan also cracked the 40-assist plateau in both matches.
