CCC Earns Five-Star Champions of Character Recognition
LA GRANDE Ore.- The Cascade Collegiate Conference has been named a NAIA
Champions of Character Five-Star Conference for 2011-12. In addition, eight member schools have received the NAIA
Champions of Character Five-Star Institution designation.
"We are very proud to receive the Five-Star designation," stated Commissioner Rob Cashell. "The student athletes, coaches and athletic administrators on all of our campuses have embraced what it means to be a person of character and how sports can positively impact others."
The
Champions of Character Scorecard measures each institution's commitment to the NAIA
Champions of Character program. Points are earned in five key areas: character training, conduct in competition, academic focus, character recognition and character promotion. Institutions earned points based on exceptional student-athlete grade point averages and by obtaining zero ejections during competition throughout the course of the academic year.
The CCC has also partnered with Les Schwab in the overall promotion of Character on each campus and the communities they serve.
